Over the past two decades, Lillian Boyce has earned the reputation and established herself as one of the most successful business-women and female politicians in the Turks and Caicos Islands.

In addition, she has made her mark in almost every aspect of life in the Turks and Caicos Islands, whether it was social, cultural, religious, sports, or community service.
​
In business, she has established the Turks and Caicos National Car Rental, the Turks and Caicos Airport Hotel and Plaza and more recently the Carambola Restaurant.
​
Mrs. Boyce has been involved in politics since 1995.
​
In Opposition, she was regarded nationally as the champion of the people, especially the less privileged, and was renowned for standing up for the rights of all.
​

As a former Minister of Education Youth, Sports Culture and Arts from 2003 to 2007, she firmly established herself as a hard-working and dedicated visionary who believes that education is one of the main tools that will contribute to her country’s social and economic growth of the Turks and Caicos Islands.
​
​She is credited as the one who completely revolutionized and transformed the education sector in the Turks and Caicos Islands, leaving behind a strong and distinguished legacy that includes overseeing a scholarships programme which created opportunities for higher learning for an unprecedented number of young people throughout the Turks and Caicos Islands.

​In addition, she conceptualized a five-year Education Plan, and established the country’s first Education For All Policy, Graduation Policy, Teachers’ Incentive Policy, Youth Policy,
Scholarship Policy, while providing access to education for students who were denied.
​
She also instituted the Youth Cadet programme and implemented the Human Rights Commission, created statutory bodies of the Culture and Drugs program, among many other things.

In April 2007, Mrs Boyce was instrumental in ensuring that the Turks and Caicos successfully hosted the 36th CARIFTA Games, which are regarded as the Caribbean Olympics. It was a first for this country and is still regarded as one of the best-ever CARIFTA Games in the reigon.

​​As Minister of Health, Social Development and Gender Affairs from 2007 to 2009, she was given special responsibility for the constructing and completion of two new hospitals in Grand Turk and Providenciales. She is also responsible for the Healthy lifestyle campaign and awareness throughout the Islands and has engineered and implemented a Poverty Alleviation and Citizens Empowerment (PACE) Programme which was designed to bring about significant social and economic transformation in the Turks and Caicos Islands.

Mrs. Boyce strongly believes in the social, economic, spiritual and overall development of the people of the Turks and Caicos Islands. To this end, she intends to devote most of her time to continuing the work which she started under the PACE Programme, which she says is needed now more than ever.
​​As one who has served her country with distinction and honour, locally, regionally and internationally, Mrs. Boyce is recorded in the history of the Turks and Caicos Islands as the first woman to be sworn in as Deputy Premier and served as acting Premier from time to time. She also served as Minister of Immigration and Home Affairs.
​
“Among the many goals that I would like to accomplish in my life is to ensure that our communities throughout these islands become economically healthy and safe for all of our children and future generations to come,” she says.

Mrs. Boyce holds firmly to the concepts of hard work and sacrifice and is a firm believer in service above self-interest.

With a career that defines a true success story in the Turks and Caicos Islands , her record as a representative has been exemplary and her service as a minister of government has been outstanding.

Mrs. Boyce’s political and professional success is matched only by her personal commitment and passion to improving the lot of people in her country.

Married to prominent Barbadian journalist and publisher Hayden Boyce, Editor-in-Chief of the Turks and Caicos SUN newspaper. She is the proud mother of two sons, Kelian and Kelano, daughter Sakera and Son in law Denario Cook.
