Five Cays deserves everything that it will be getting in the near future and more.
So says representative for the constituency the Hon. Dr. Lillian Boyce, who was speaking during the brick laying ceremony in Five Cays for the community centre on November 26.
“We are all tired of people downing Five Cays and so our community centre will have a library and a computer room and a gym, with all the other amenities that we deserve. We will have a fire station, and our roads and lights and God knows what else we will get it in Five Cays if we work together,” said the passionate representative,” she said.
“We have probably had no major construction in Five Cays for the past 95 years. This morning is a privilege and perhaps the most important piece of construction that will take place in Five Cays after so many years.”
The Minister went on to state that she constantly nagged her colleagues to start the ball on the project and always had their support from day one.
“I nagged for two years for this project and I didn’t have to do it very hard because they (government) all supported me. I thank them for coming through for us the people of Five Cays; this is not an election gimmick like you may have heard!”
“Thank you Five Cays for dreaming and working with me in fact the bricks being laid here today are on the footing that we put down as members of Five Cays. The road is on the way, I want you the people of Five Cays to know that you can nag me and I can tell you openly that the road will be built with sidewalks and more is to come,” she said.
